Joe Wilburn Rose Jr., 74, died Tuesday at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield.
Mr. Rose was born in Wayne County to the late Joe Wilburn Rose Sr. and Alice Hollowell Rose. He was a member of Spring Hill Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lloyd Hargis. Interment will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Rose is survived by his sisters, Katie Mitchell and Faye Rose, both of Goldsboro; his brother-in-law, James Allen of Goldsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Allen.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Spring Hill Free Will Baptist Church, 2127 U.S. 70 West, Goldsboro, 27530.
The family will receive friends Thursday at Seymour Funeral Home following the service and other times at the home of his sister, Katie Mitchell, 760 Charlie Braswell Road, Goldsboro.
