Died Dec. 27, 2006

Milford Baker, 51, chief of police in Greenevers, died Wednesday at his residence.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Ever Ready Gospel Tabernacle in Warsaw with Dr. Curtis Lee officiating.

He was born in Duplin County to the late Shelton and Pastor Minnie Federick Baker. He received his education in the Duplin County Public School system.

Mr. Baker is survived by his wife, Tereasa Gill Baker of Faison; four brothers, Paul Baker of Turkey, James Baker of Hanover, Md., Erwin Baker of Raleigh and Michael Baker of Charlotte; sister, Avis Baker of Kenansville; and two stepdaughters, Tasha Faison of Raleigh and Shonta Simmons of Goldsboro.

A viewing will be held today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel in Warsaw.

The funeral procession will assemble one hour prior to the service.
