Linda Talton Newell, 67, a former resident of Kirkwood Retirement Village, died Tuesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Mrs. Newell was born in Wayne County to the late Paul Bryant Talton and Eula Purnell Talton. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
Private graveside services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Willow Dale Cemetery with the Rev. Homer Morris and the Rev. JoAnn Turner officiating.
Mrs. Newell is survived by her daughter, Sherry Stafford and her husband, DeNeal, of Goldsboro; her sister, Julie Bridgers and husband, Tom, of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, Scott Stafford and Bryant Stafford; and her niece, Molly Bridgers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her niece, Mary Scott Bridgers, and her loving pet, Frieda.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, 27534 or the Wayne County Animal Shelter Building Fund, Brick Street, Goldsboro, 27530.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, 413 N. Cottonwood Drive, Goldsboro.
