RUTH V. WILLIAMS

NAGS HEAD -- Mrs. Ruth Frances Vail Williams, 91, formerly of Pikeville, went to be with her Lord on Sunday morning at Britthaven of the Outer Banks in Nags Head.

Mrs. Williams was born in Wayne County on December 20, 1915 to the late Willie Purvis Vail and Margaret Scott Vail. She was married to the late Edgar Theodore "E.T." Williams. Mrs. Williams was a member of Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Barry Stallings and the Rev. Jerry Stevenson officiating. Burial will follow in the Probate Scott Family Cemetery, 380 Hooks Road, Fremont.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her sons, Willie Theodore "Billy" Williams and his wife, Sandra, of Fayetteville and Robert Gordon "Bobby" Williams Sr. and his wife, Jenny, of Kill Devil Hills; her grandchildren, Sharon Kay Adkins and her husband, Henry, of Fayetteville, Andrew Copeland Williams of Hilton Head, S.C., Avery Ruth Wiliams, Robert Gordon "Robbie" Williams Jr., Leigh H. Bracy and Holly R. Bracy, all of Kill Devil Hills; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Candace Lynne Jordan, and her sisters, Marie V. Rowe, Gladys Goff, Ella Pippin Rich, Winona Wilson and Perrine Gay.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Missions Trip Fund, P.O. Box 2890 Kitty Hawk, 27949.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, 1300 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro.
