ISAAC C. GOODING

PIKEVILLE -- Isaac Carlton Gooding, 65, 1889 Antioch Road, died Saturday at the Brian Center in Goldsboro. Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Isaac & Hazel Warrick Gooding. Carlton was employed with Kemp Furniture Company for 20 years and worked for 10 years with the N. C. Department of Cultural Resources. He was a member of Brogden Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Dorman officiating. Graveside services will be held Thursday, at 11 a.m. at the Musgrave Cemetery in Pikeville.

Mr. Gooding is survived by his wife, Mattie Wilkins Gooding; two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward Carlton and Gail Gooding of Micro, Charles Keith and Judy Gooding of Pikeville; two brothers, Billy Ray Gooding and Bobby Lee Gooding, both of Pikeville; two sisters, Marie G. Gay and Faye Evans, both of Pikeville; three grandchildren, Edward Bryan Gooding of Raleigh, NC, Karen G. Martin of Pikeville, NC, Jon Luke Gooding of Pikeville; and one great-grandchild, Cassidy Nichole Martin of Pikeville.

Flowers are welcome and memorial contributions my be directed to the Brogden Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, C/O Bobbie Stover, 105 Byrd Lane, Dudley, 28333.

The family will receive friends Wednesday immediately following the funeral service at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
