CONOVER -- Ural Franklin "Dude" Dellinger, 95, died Sunday at the Lutheran Home in Hickory.

He was born in Lincoln County to the late Ural Everette and Pearl Starr Dellinger. Dude was the retired owner of Dellinger Grocery, part owner of Dellinger Interiors and a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church.

A service of remembrance will be Wednesday, 11 a.m. at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Walter L. Hitchcock Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Fay; a son, Dickie Dellinger; his parents; four brothers, Ottis, Paul, William H., and the Rev. Everette Dellinger; and a sister, Novella Bost.

He was survived by five daughters, Janice Whisen-hunt of Goldsboro, Jackie Maresca of Sammamish, Wash., Jinky Shearon of Jefferson, Chrissie Maness of Indian Trail, and Debbie Bowman of Newton; one son, David Dellinger of Conover; two sisters, Beatrice Burris of Lincolnton and Lucille Cochran of Ninety-Six, S.C.; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
