KATHERINE STACKHOUSE

July 11, 1920 - Dec. 16, 2006

Katherine Dunlap Stackhouse, 86, died Saturday at the Kitty Atkins Hospice Center. A native of Hartsville, S.C., she was born July 11, 1920, the daughter of the late Charles Kirkland Dunlap and Katherine Connor Dunlap. Mrs. Stackhouse was a member of the All Saints Church A.M.i.A in Morehead City.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Willow Dale Cemetery with the Rev. John Grayson, pastor of All Saints Church A.M.i.A., the Rev. Drew Clark, minister of First Presbyterian Church, and the Rev. Tom Harper, pastor of Second Baptist Church officiating.

Surviving: husband, John Woods Stackhouse Sr.; daughter, Katherine "Kitty" Stackhouse Sauls and husband, Ben, of Goldsboro; sons, John Woods Stackhouse Jr. and wife, Saray, of Miami, Fla., Charles Kirkland Stackhouse and wife, Ann, of Goldsboro, and Wilson Bryant Stackhouse and wife, Susan, of Goldsboro; brother, Charles K. Dunlap Jr. and wife, Jane, of Hartsville, S.C.; sister, Louise Dunlap Howell and husband, Robert, of Macon, Ga.; grandchildren, Kimberly Stackhouse Smith and husband, Shane, of Williamsburg, Va., Heather Stackhouse O'Quinn and husband, Ryan, of Woodland Hills, Calif., Heather Sauls Honeycutt and husband, Johnny, of Erwin, Elizabeth Derby Stackhouse of Goldsboro, Katherine Hope Stackhouse of Goldsboro, John Joseph Sauls of Charleston, S.C., Susan Dunlap Stackhouse of Raleigh; four great-grandchildren and a former daughter-in-law, Pamela Jeffcoat Stackhouse of Goldsboro.

The family request memorials be made to Kitty Atkins Hospice Center Building Fund, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27534 or Katherine Dunlap Investergator Fund, Narsad, 60 Cutter Mill Rd., Great Neck, N.Y. 11021. Narsad was founded by the National Alliance for Mentally Ill, The National Depressive and Manic Depressive Association and the National Mental Health Association in 1986. Narsad is a private organization that all operating and overhead expenses are paid by two families in order that all donations go to a research person.
