Colonel G. Barnes died surrounded by his family. He attended Dillard High School, class of 1963.
Memorial service will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Green-leaf Christian Church, 2110 N. Wilson Highway, Goldsboro, with Minister Charles D. Roseboro officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta Barnes; children, Keisha Barnes, Colonel Barnes Jr., Monica Young and husband, Pete, and Tracy Barnes; three sisters, Gladys Roseboro, Roberta Davis and Cassandra Chisolm and husband, Anthony; three grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Viewing will be Sunday one hour prior to service.
Hamilton Funeral Home, Goldsboro, is handling arrangements.
