The funeral for Dorothy Marie Walker Simms, 45, will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at Greenleaf Christian Church. 2110 North William St. The Rev. William Barber II will officiate. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Simms is survived by her husband, Dexter L. Simms of the home; one daughter, Brittany L. Simms of the home; one son, Gregory L. Simms of the home; her parents, Melvin Joe L. and Dorothy Mae Edwards Walker, both of Goldsboro; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lugenus and Louise Simms, both of Lucama; two sisters, Miriam P. Walker and Dixie W. Barnes (Gary), both of Goldsboro; two brothers, Melvin Joe L. Walker, Jr. (Laura) of Goldsboro and John K. Walker (Angenette) of Raleigh; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives, and friends.
The viewing hours will be from 3 until 7 p.m. on Saturday at Greenleaf Christian Church.
The family will receive friends at the residence at 103 Sheryl Terrace, and will assemble there one hour prior to the funeral to prepare for the procession.
