MOUNT OLIVE -- Jerry Reeves Thompson, 59, of 615 Northwest Center St., died Monday afternoon at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Tyndall Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Olive with Dr. Dennis Atwood and the Rev. Anthony Z. Gurganus officiating. Interment will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Thompson was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Olive and had been employed with Belk-Tyler's in Mount Olive and Goldsboro. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Avon Thompson.
She is survived by two sons, Luther Thompson and his wife, Sherry R. Thompson, and Jeffrey Thompson, all of Mount Olive; her parents, Helen Kelly Columbus and Cecil Columbus of Mount Olive; her grandchildren, Chase Thompson and Taylor Thompson of Mount Olive; her brothers, Nick Columbus and his wife, Terry, of Goldsboro, Tim Reeves of Mount Olive and Stuart Reeves of Louisiana; and a sister, Wendy Fennell of Georgia.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday night from 7 until 9, and at other times at the Cecil Columbus residence, 617 Northwest Center Street, Mount Olive.
