Esther Worrell Balkcum Albright, 85, died Sunday at Wake Medical Center in Cary.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday at noon at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley, with the Rev. Bill Rose officiating.
A Wayne County native, Mrs. Albright moved from Goldsboro to Apex five years ago to live with her daughter and her family.
Mrs. Albright was the daughter of the late Kirby and Pearl Turner Worrell. She was married for 37 years to the late James Roland Balkcum, who died in 1976, and was the wife of the Rev. Fred P. Albright for 21 years.
In addition to her daughter, Pam Wilson, and her husband Britt, Mrs. Albright is survived by two brothers, Harold Worrell, and wife, Irene, of Goldsboro and Lawrence Worrell and wife, Virginia, of Goldsboro; three sisters, Elizabeth W. Edmundson of Goldsboro; Pearl W. Holloman and husband, Kirby, of Kinston; and Jana Bryan and husband, George, of Wilmington; and her grandchildren, James Matthew Wilson, Andrew Britton Wilson, and Allison Kessler Wilson; and many special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Abia Harrison, Esther Mae Kearney, and Selma Lancaster, and seven brothers, Emmitt Worrell, Kirby Lee Worrell, Johnny Worrell, Paul Worrell, Wilbert Worrell, Buster Worrell and Waitus Worrell.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 at Seymour Funeral Home.
