FAISON -- The funeral for Hosea M. Oates Sr., 90, of 100 Oates-Armwood Lane, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Holly Grove Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, with the Rev. Steven C. Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Cobbs Cemetery.
Mr. Oates died Sunday at his home.
He was the son of the late Jimmy T. and Eldessiar Boone Oates.
He is survived his wife, Annie Oates of the home; two sons, Hosea M. Oates Jr. of Mount Olive and Francis Oates of Faison; three daughters, Edna Wright of Denton, Md., Annie Joyce Thompson of Pennsauken, N.J., and Cynthia McKinney of Faison; and 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
The viewing will be held today from 4 until 7 p.m. at Garris Funeral Home Chapel and the family will be present from 4 until 6 p.m. to receive friends.
