Edward "Eddie" Francis Mansour, Sr., 85, of 850 Lake Wackena Road, died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Mansour was born in Wayne County on April 2, 1920 to the late Michael Mansour and Nell Heeden Mansour. He was a graduate of Goldsboro High School and served in the United States Army Infantry during World War II. While serving his country, he was awarded four Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart.
Mr. Mansour operated the Hub Department Store in Downtown Goldsboro for many years with his brother, Ernest Mansour Sr., and later worked in real estate development.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church. Monsignor George Sabali and the Rev. Tom Norris, O.S.F.S. will officiate. Burial will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Mathis Mansour; his daughter, Juanita Mansour Mosure and husband, Dr. James C. Mosure of Viriginia Beach; his grandson, James Michael Mosure of Virginia Beach; his sister, Mrs. John (Martha) Cosby of Fort Worth, Texas; his sister-in-law, Virginia Mansour of Goldsboro; and his nephews, Ernest Norman Mansour Jr. of Goldsboro and Edward Francis Mansour Jr. of Wrightsville Beach.
Mr. Mansour was preceded in death by his son, Michael Fredrick Mansour and his brother, Ernest Mansour, Sr.
A Rosary will be held 7 p.m. Monday, March 6, 2006 at Seymour Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the rosary until 9 p.m. At other times, the family will be at his home.
