HOWARD WILLIAMS

LINDEN -- Howard Lee Williams, 54, of 8849 Durant Nixon Road, died Thursday at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
He was a native of High Point and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was employed with Harnett County as a weigh master at the Harnett County Landfill.
He is survived by his wife, Claudia Harrell Williams of the home, daughter of Clara Harrell of Goldsboro; one son, Howard Lee Williams Jr. of Kannapolis; two daughters, Caycee Whaley of Wilson and Rebecca Holmes of Dunn; his parents, Bobby Ray and June Elizabeth Fogle Williams of Kannapolis; and three brothers, Bobby Clifford Williams of China Grove and Paul Ray Williams of Lancaster, S.C., and Todd Kinsel Williams of Detroit, Mich.; one sister, Bonnie June Lentz of China Grove; and seven grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Samsom County Church with the Rev. Jerome Pope officiating. Burial, with military honors will be in Wayne Memorial Park in Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Cromartie-Miller & Lee Funeral Home in Dunn.
