Lucille Cavenaugh Adams, 85, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A native of Wayne County and a former resident of Fremont, she was the daughter of the late Jessie and Effie Jernigan Cavenaugh and the widow of Hubert Adams. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded n death by a brother, five sisters and two daughters.
She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Jackson of Massena, Iowa; two brothers, Roy Lee Cavenaugh of Fremont and Ressie Cavenaugh of Dunn; and 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held by the graveside today at 3 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Dunn. The Rev. Troy Lee Jr. will officiate and the family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home is serving the family.
