MILDRED THIGPEN

WARSAW -- Mildred Crenshaw Thigpen, 95, a former resident of Warsaw, died Thursday at Mary Gran Nursing Center in Clinton.
The service will be held today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Community Funeral Home. The Rev. Mitchell Rivenbark will officiate. Burial will be in the Devotional Gardens.
Mrs. Thigpen was the daughter of George W. and Sara Sims Crenshaw and was the widow of Rupert C. Thigpen. She was a member of Warsaw Baptist Church and was retired from Duplin County Schools.
She is survived by four children, R.C. Thigpen Jr.. of Jacksonville, Fla., Harry L. Thigpen of Boone, Sara Thigpen Fitchett of Norfolk, Va., and Cecilia Thigpen Levear-Warner of Robbins, Ga.; one sister, Evelyn C. Wright of Black Mountain; and 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia Thigpen Strand and Janet Frances Thigpen.
The family received friends Saturday night from 7 until 9 at Community Funeral Home.
