KENANSVILLE -- The funeral for Oscar Moore Jr., 67, of 993 Paul Ed Dail Road, will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Kenansville. Pastor E.T. Costin will officiate. Burial will be in the Devotional Gardens.
Mr. Moore died Tuesday at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.
He was the son of the late Oscar Moore Sr. and Mary Lillie M Moore. He served in the United States Army and retired as a bus driver with the New York City Transit Authority.
He is survived by his wife, Rosa M. Moore of the home; one son, Malcolm Moore of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one daughter, Lucine Moore Willis of Laurel, Md.; four brothers, Charlie Moore of Washington, D.C., Ira James Moore of St. Albany, N.Y., Thaddus Lee Moore and Robert E. Moore of Kenansville; three sisters, Mary E. Aiken of South Ozone Park, N.Y., Dora Betty Davis of Fayetteville and Lillie Doris Best of Kenansville; and three grandchildren.
The viewing will be from 3 until 6 p.m. on Saturday at Garris Funeral Home in Mount Olive.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
