WARREN C. CASEY
RALEIGH -- Retired. Col. Warren Coleman Casey, 83, of 1801 Pony Run Road, died Friday.
He was born in Dudley to the late Edgar Robert and Narcissa Grady Casey. He graduated from Wake Forest University in 1942 and received his law degree from there in 1949.
Col. Casey served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 until 1946 and in the U.S. Army from 1950 until his retirement in 1969. He retired from General Electric in 1984 and was active in community service as a member of the Civitan Club, Score, and the American Legion.
His first wife, Dorothy Nash Casey, preceded him in death, and his second wife, Margaret Schmoldt Davis Casey, survives.
He is also survived by his stepchildren, Edward Davis of Venice, Fla., William Davis of Marietta, Ga., and Mrs. William Nells of Concord, Ohio; one brother, Clarence Casey of Dudley; two sisters, Dorothy Casey of Winston-Salem and Sarah Covington of Charlotte; and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral was to be held today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Brown-Wynne Funeral Home on Millbrook Road. Burial, with full military honors, will at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
The family received friends on Tuesday night from 7 until 9 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emmaus Baptist Church, 714 Emmaus Church Road, Dudley, N.C., 28333.
