NORMAN B. NEWSOME
Norman B. Newsome, 85, died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Benjamin Edward and Kate Rollins Newsome, and brother of the late Annie M. Tillman and Emma L. Wade. He was a retired Senior Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force.
A memorial service will be held Monday evening at 7 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel. Committal services with full military honors will be held Tuesday morning at 11 at the Wayne Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Mr. Newsome is survived by his wife, Margaret M. Newsome; two daughters, Laura Newsome Jones of Warner Robins, Ga., Heather Newsome Danielson of Goldsboro; one step-daughter, Tina Marie Dempsey of Fort Worth, Texas; three step-sons, Steven P. Strehlow of Las Vegas, Nev., Alan Bradley Strehlow of Suffolk, Va., Paul Douglas Strehlow of Oregon; two sisters, Laura E. Watson of Chesapeake, Va., Trudy Baldwin of Virginia; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday evening following the service at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
