FRANK ROBINSON
BEAUFORT -- Frank Robinson, 85, of Beaufort, died Monday at Century Care.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Munden Funeral Home. The Rev. Mance Cason will officiate.
Mr. Robinson was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was the pilot for Zapata Hanna, a commercial fishing company based in Cameron, La.. He served as a volunteer with the Beaufort Fire Department for 50 years, making him the oldest and longest-serving fire fighter in North Carolina.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Margaret Herring Robinson of Beaufort; three stepdaughters, Christina Jones of Mount Olive, Marlene Dunkie and her husband, Frankie, of Newport and Patricia Beck of Beaufort; three stepsons, Ray Harper, Frank Harper and his wife, Tammi, and Roger Harper and his wife, Margaret, all of Newport; two sisters, Anna cope of Portsmouth, Va., and Margaret Bills of Townsend, Vt.; and 13 step-grandchildren and 17 great-step-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Munden Funeral Home following the service on Thursday, and other times at the residence.
