LOU ESTHER SHORT
Lou Esther Millard Short, 80, of 2710 Langston Drive, died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. The Rev. Doc Hobbs will officiate. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
A native of Wayne County, Mrs. Short was the daughter of the late Anacin and Cora Wood and was married to the late Rufus Millard. She was a retired sales clerk with J.C. Penney.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda Overbee and husband, Jesse, of Pikeville; her grandchildren; Scott Overbee and wife, Kelly, of Goldsboro and Cynthia Aehlich and husband, Bill, of Tinton Falls, N.J.; her great-granddaughter, Lindsay Aehlich; her sister, Mary Etta Andrews of Newton Grove; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends today from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the home of her daughter, 305 Carla Ann Drive, Pikeville.
