WALTER MERCER
Walter Julian Mercer, 64, of Spartanburg, S.C., died Friday at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
He was a native of Lumberton and was the son of the late Walter and Ina Parks Mercer. He was the CEO of The Art Gallery Inc. and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He is survived by three sons, Julian Boyd Mercer and wife, Lisa, and Joel Barton Mercer and wife, Tracie, all of Spartanburg, and Jeremy Brett Mercer and wife, Jennifer, of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Garris Boyd, Callie Parks, Isabelle Isaacs Mercer, Chelsea Brooks Mercer, Hayley Madison Mercer and Jeremy B. Mercer Jr.; sisters, Betty M. Easley of Beaufort, Linda M. Gray of Pensacola, Fla., and Carolyn M. Grant of Goldsboro.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Spartanburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Art Gallery Inc., 234 Mansfield Drive, Spartanburg, S.C., 29307.
