RICHARD REEVES
Richard Herman Reeves, 75, of 237 Odom Mill Road, Mount Olive, died Saturday at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield.
The funeral will be held tonight at 7:30 in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. The Rev. Chris Watkins will officiate. A private family graveside service will be held at Britt Family Cemetery.
Mr. Reeves was born in Winston-Salem on April 14, 1928, to the late James Ellis and Maggie Clark Reeves. He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church in Walkertown and attended Oak Heights Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Owens Reeves; four sons, Danny Reeves of Lexington, Billy Reeves and Bobby Reeves of Dudley, and Timothy Reeves of Mount Olive; two daughters, Janie Maggard of Mount Olive and Debbie Nichols of LaGrange; one brother, James Reeves of Asheville; and 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, eight brothers, and a granddaughter, Tiffany Reeves.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight following the service, and other times at the home of his daughter, Janie Maggard, 229 Odom Mill Road.
