ELGIN ROYAL
A graveside funeral for Elgin "Red" Royal will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Willow Dale Cemetery. Bishop Alton A. Smith will conduct the service.
Mr. Royal died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Goldsboro on June 29, 1931, and was the son of the late Percy Royal Sr. and Marie McKenzie Royal. He attended Goldsboro City Schools, was an avid golfer and loved people.
He is survived by two sons, Thomas Royal of New Jersey and Ron Royal of Maryland; six grandchildren, four nieces, four nephews, two sisters-in-law, Eleanor Royal and Alice Royal; one aunt and three uncles; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Cornelius Royal and Percy Royal Jr.
McIntyre Funeral Home is serving the family.
