Car wash linked to drug arrest

Deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office drug unit recently made an arrest at a car wash where illegal drugs were allegedly being sold.

Elvin Geovanny Flores, 41, of 207 Devonshire Drive, was arrested and charged with three counts of first-level trafficking cocaine and one count of first-level trafficking methamphetamine. He was booked into the Wayne County Detention Center with a secured bond of $75,000.

During a search on Thursday, deputies seized 56 grams of methamphetamine worth an estimated street value of $2,800 and 3 ounces of cocaine.

According to a press release from the sheriff's office, an investigation of illegal drug trafficking activities was conducted at Elvin Flores and Bubblez car wash. The business is located at 1801 N. William St. and Hooks River Road.

The investigation is ongoing and other arrests may be pending, officers said.

The Raleigh office of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration also assisted in the investigation.
