Rosewood, Aycock receive FFA support

Two Wayne County high schools have been awarded a portion of grant funding from the nation's largest rural lifestyle retailer in support of Future Farmers of America programs.
The Tractor Supply Co. recently announced its third annual Grants for Growing program, which raised a record-breaking $830,000 for the National FFA Foundation. Officials said 271 grants were handed out.
In North Carolina, Tractor Supply stores raised $40,000 to fund local FFA projects and awarded 17 grants to chapters, which requested funding to build or enhance sustainable educational projects.
A $2,118 grant was awarded to Rosewood High School and will fund its "Producing AGvocates" project.
Charles B. Aycock High School was awarded a $2,000 grant for its "Growing the CBA FFA" project.
Nearly 600 applications were received from FFA chapters across the country, officials said.
Since the program's start in 2016, Grants for Growing has raised more than $2.2 million for the National FFA organization.
