Former Fremont mayor Andy Evans found dead; SBI investigates

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of former Fremont mayor Floyd Anthony "Andy" Evans.
Evans was found dead by a family member at one of his properties located at 129 Evans Farm Road, Fremont, on Saturday at approximately 1:20 p.m., said Maj. Richard Lewis, with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
Wayne County Sheriff Larry Pierce confirmed that the State Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the investigation, a common procedure following the death of a former public official.
Pierce would not confirm what area of the house the former mayor was found in. The body has been sent to the state medical examiner's office for an autopsy, and results are expected on Monday.
Pierce declined to provide additional details surrounding the death of Evans.
