Dillard Alumni to celebrate homecoming

Dillard/Goldsboro Alumni and Friends Inc. will celebrate its 63rd annual homecoming over the weekend of Thursday through Sunday, May 24 to 27, with classes ending with "3" and "8" receiving special honor.
The weekend will kick off Thursday with the scholarship and awards program at Goldsboro High School at 7 p.m. All celebrating classes are encouraged to attend. Scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors.
Membership tickets can be purchased during the event and used for admission to a reception following the program, as well as admission to the alumni dance, picnic and this year to vote for the national president. Membership tickets may be purchased at the Neal A. Stitt Building on Wednesday from noon until 3 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Deadline to purchase membership tickets in order to vote for the National President will be Friday at 1 p.m. Voting will take place on Saturday from noon until 4:30 p.m.
The annual board meeting will be held on Friday at 9 a.m.
Special guest for the weekend will be the alumni group from Forsyth, Georgia.
The annual homecoming dance will be held at the H.V. Brown Center on Friday Night from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. Membership ticket is required for admission.
The homecoming parade will be downtown on Saturday at 10 a.m. The lineup will begin at 8 a.m. at Center and Pine streets.
The homecoming picnic will be held Saturday at the H.V. Brown Center from noon until 3:30 p.m.
The Black and White Ball will take place Saturday from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. with a cost of $20 per person.
Individual classes will hold private reunions and gatherings the entire weekend.
Class picnics will be held on Sunday, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
