Summer weather is definitely here to stay. Those wanting to cool off a bit can visit Goldsboro's two swimming pools.

Both pools will be open Saturday through Sept. 3.

The Mina Weil pool is located beside W.A. Foster Center.

Its days and hours of operation will be Monday and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., closed Wednesday and Thursday, Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m.

The pool is for all ages of children and adults.

Cost is $1 per visit for those 1 through 18 and $3 per visit for those 19 and older.

Visitors are not allowed to take food or beverages into the pool area, just a bottle of water, said Skylar Kelly, recreation center leader at Goldsboro Parks and Recreation Department.

"There is a snack bar at the pool that will be selling snacks and drinks," he said.

The Peacock Pool is located at 1503 Herring St.

Days and hours of operation are closed Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m.

Cost is $1 per visit for those 1 through 18 and $3 per visit for those 19 and older.

There is a snack bar at the pool that will be selling snacks and drinks. Visitors are allowed to take a bottle of water into the pool area.

Both pools are also available for private parties Sunday through Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at a cost of $100. Food and drinks may be taken into the pool area during private parties.

Parties may also be book during pools hours at $50 for two hours. Food may be taken in during the party.

Pets are not allowed in either pool.

Lifeguards are available at both pools during open hours.

"We open the pools for those in the community to come out and have a good time," Kelly said. "And those in our summer camps can also use the pools.

"It's very convenient to have a pool in the community. People can do the same thing right here at home that they would do going to the beach."
