Man charged with heroin possession, assault on a law enforcement officer

Wayne County sheriff deputies arrested a Goldsboro man on Thursday and charged him with the possession of heroin and possession of a stolen vehicle.
Brock Remington Lanier, 20, 107 Red Oak Road, is charged with possession of heroin, larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property, assault physical injury to law enforcement and resisting a public officer.
According to sheriff's reports, a detective responded to a call of a stolen vehicle that was in the area of William Street. The detective located the vehicle that was turning onto Hooks River Road. During the traffic stop, Lanier fled and a foot chase ensued. He was quickly apprehend and allegedly assaulted the deputy.
Lanier was placed in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $21,000 bond.
