A Goldsboro man told police on Tuesday that he was beaten unconscious more than a week ago while unpacking groceries from his car.
The incident took place on Nov. 21 outside the victim's home in the 900 block of Sycamore Street.
The report filed with the Police Department detailed the incident.
The alleged attacker is a 32-year-old man known to the victim and who, as recently as July, made threats against the victim's safety.
The victim reported that the man came up to him, beat him with a blunt object and threatened to kill him with a gun he said he had.
The attack ended with the victim left knocked out. He was later treated at Wayne UNC Health Care emergency room for what the report listed as "multiple serious injuries."
The alleged attacker is described as being a 6-foot tall, 230 pound man.
He is listed on the report but had not been charged at the time of this report.
The incident is under investigation.
Maj. Anthony Carmon, head of the Goldsboro Police Department's Investigative Services Bureau, did not immediately return a phone call seeking further details about the incident.
