One man was shot in the foot, another in the arm and a third man was pistol whipped in three separate weekend incidents in the Dudley area, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said a 23-year-old man was shot in the arm around 2 a.m. Saturday.

Deputies responded to a residence on Legion Lake Drive when the caller said that someone had been shot and there were a "lot of people fighting" in the area.

When deputies arrived there were several people in the house who said people had been fighting, but that they did not hear a gunshot or see who had a gun.

They said a man had come to the house and told them he had been shot, but that they did not know where.

The victim left prior to the arrival of deputies with his girlfriend who was carrying him to Wayne UNC Heath Care.

Deputies said they stopped the vehicle that was traveling at a high rate of speed on U.S. 117 South. EMS responded since the man had been shot in the arm.

The victim told deputies he was in the area and a fight had broken out.

He said he heard a gunshot, but did not know he had been struck until someone pointed out he had blood on his sweater.

Deputies said the victim told them he did not see who shot him, nor anyone with a gun.

He would not provide any more information, deputies said.

The second shooting happened shortly after 1 a.m. Monday when deputies responded to a residence on Nancy Drive in response to someone having been shot in the foot.

The 25-year-old male victim told deputies he was standing outside his home on Durham Lake Road when someone came out from behind an old store building and started shooting at him.

The victim said he ran, jumped into his vehicle and went to a friend's residence on Nancy Drive.

Around the same time, deputies received a call from a resident on Sandhill Drive who said a shooting had taken place outside of his apartment.

He told deputies he had seen a white Cadillac and  a black car.

The man told deputies that the people in the two cars were shooting at each other because of something that happened with a nearby female resident.

Deputies said they spoke with the victim at the hospital and that he said he did not know anything about a shooting on Sandhill Drive.

The man did not cooperate with law enforcement officers while in the hospital, deputies said.

He told deputies that he had no idea who shot him.

The third incident involving a gun happened around 10 a.m. Sunday when a 40-year-old Dudley man called 911 to report that his former girlfriend was assaulting him with a handgun.

The victim said the woman entered his home and an argument ensured during which the woman pulled out a gun and struck him on the head.

He said she also hit him on the arm.

The man had a visible injury to the left side of his forehead, but did not request medical treatment.
