On Tuesday, Nov. 14, at approximately 12:05 a.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to 211 E. Patetown Road for a possible shooting.
When officers arrived, they were told that two unknown individuals forced entry to a detached garage at the address. The suspects brandished firearms and shots were fired.
Officers did not locate any shooting victims at the time.
Approximately an hour later, officers responded to Wayne UNC Health Care in reference to a victim arriving at the hospital by private vehicle.
The victim, John Oscar Mumford, had sustained multiple gunshots wounds.
Mumford was transferred to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville with non-life threatening injuries. Goldsboro Police Department Criminal Investigative Division responded to the scene and the investigation continues.
