The 22nd annual Chevrolet of Goldsboro Veterans Day Car Show went off without a hitch Saturday, with over $6,000 raised to support disabled veterans in Wayne County.

Spokesperson Jennifer Tyndall said that the show included 257 registered vehicles, and saw around 1,500 people visit. Beginning around 9 a.m., the show was split up into eight categories -- Corvettes, Fords, GM's, Mopars, trucks, foreign vehicles, other manufacturers and motorcycles -- and each category was well-represented, Tyndall said.

The best-in-show winners in each category received cash prizes and trophies. Tyndall said that Chevrolet of Goldsboro awarded around $4,000 in total prizes across the categories.

Tyndall credited the weather and the attendees for making the show successful.

"The weather was perfect, it was a beautiful day for a car show," she said. "Thank you to everyone who came out to make it a great event."
