Someone steals purse containing items valued at $2,000

Someone stole a woman's purse containing over $2,000 worth of items Thursday morning, according to a Goldsboro Police Department investigation report.
According to the report, the victim was inside Darwin Screen Printing and Embroidary at 127 E. Walnut St. around 9 a.m. Thursday, when an unknown suspect took her purse off the counter while she was not looking.
The purse contained a wallet, a white Apple IPhone, a debit card, $40 in cash and multiple medications. It also contained a .5 carat diamond valued at $1,500, bringing the total approximate value of the stolen items to $2,230, according to the report.
