Man arrested after allegedly trying to break into a vehicle while a woman was in it

A man is in custody after allegedly attempting to break in to a vehicle on Glenwood Trail while a woman was sitting in it Thursday night, according to a Goldsboro Police Department incident report.
Patrocinio Perez, 45, of 70 Sugar Hill Lane in Hiddenite is charged with attempted breaking and entering to a motor vehicle.
According to the report, the victim had been at her parent's house and had gone to sit in her parents car to smoke a cigarette around 10:30 p.m. Thursday.
While she was there, Perez allegedly walked up and began trying to open the door to the vehicle, prompting the victim to scream.
Police apprehended Perez around 15 minutes later on the 2500 block of East Ash Street.
He was charged with attempted breaking and entering to a motor vehicle and placed in the Wayne County Jail on a $1,000 secured bond.
