A man stole nearly $700 in power tools from Lowes Hardware on Berkeley Boulevard. Tuesday, and took the time to let a cashier know about it before walking out the door.
According to a Goldsboro police report, an unidentified white male arrived at Lowes empty-handed at around 1 p.m. Tuesday. He allegedly picked a piece of construction equipment ---- a Dewalt Six Tool Combo ---- and then walked toward a cash register.
Once at the register, the man allegedly stopped and told the employee there "I'm walking out with this," before doing just that.
The suspect left in a white Buick.
Police obtained a registration number for the car, but it came back as invalid, according to the report.
