Police: Man stabbed breaking up a fight

A 43-year-old man was stabbed in the chest Saturday night while trying to break up an argument between two other people.
Alejandro Martinez Mendez reported to police he was trying to get two people outside 117 Hines Drive Lot 15 to stop fighting.
Mendez alleges a suspect listed on the police report then picked up a sharp object and stabbed him in the chest.
He was taken to Wayne UNC Health Care by a friend.
The Goldsboro Police Department did not immediately respond to a phone call seeking more information about the incident.
