Police investigate after woman reports a knife was thrown her

The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating after a woman reported having a knife thrown at her by her ex-girlfriend while walking down the street, according to a GPD incident report.

According to the report, the victim was walking in the area of Slocumb Street and Spruce Street around 7:30 p.m. Thursday when a vehicle pulled up beside her. The victim noticed that the driver was her ex-girlfriend, Casey Jean Best, 26, of 304 Charles St. According to the report, Best began cursing at the victim and then threw a knife at her from the window of the vehicle

The knife missed the victim, and Best then left the area, according to the report. Warrants were secured on Best for assault with a deadly weapon.
