More showers and thunderstorms are likely today, mainly after 3 p.m.

Between a 1/2 and 3/4  of an inch of rain is possible in the area.

Showers and thunderstorms are possible before midnight and then a chance of showers dropping another 1/4 to a 1/2 inch of rain.

Nearly an inch of rain fell between midnight Monday and 8 a.m. today.

The storms are not associated with Hurricane Irma, but rather will develop along a strong cold front.

A few storms may become severe.

The primary threat will be damaging straight line wind gusts, large hail and even an isolated tornado will also be possible.

After the cold front passes through temperatures will be in the upper to mid 70s through the weekend. Nighttime lows will be in the upper 50s to low 60s.
