The Aug. 20 shooting death of a 45-year-old Pikeville woman has been ruled a suicide by police, according to a press release.
Police said an autopsy at the North Carolina State Medical Examiner's Office, along with other details revealed in the investigation, showed Molly Carr Bridgers died from an intentional self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Bridgers was found at 2006 N. William St. lying outside of a car with a gunshot wound by a patron of Spike's Tavern who was leaving the bar around 1:30 a.m., police said.
