Police made an arrest Wednesday in a shooting that left a man in serious condition.

Ormond Qudre Cobb, 26, of 210 E. Pine St., is charged with attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Officers with the Goldsboro Police Department's D shift patrol unit, VICE Unit and the Investigative Services Bureau arrested Cobb at his home without incident at about 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Cobb is accused of shooting 25-year-old Joshua Deshawn Lofton last Saturday while he stood in his own driveway at 500 Quail Drive.

Lofton remains at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville where he is in stable but serious condition.

Police at the time called the shooting a "drive-up," meaning a car pulled up, stopped and then Cobb allegedly shot Lofton before the car he was in drove away.

Lofton was taken to Wayne UNC Health Care in a private vehicle before being transferred to Vidant Medical center due to the severity of his injuries.

Police were able to recover evidence from the scene of the crime at 500 Quail Drive, and had cooperation from Lofton's neighbors during the investigation.
