A 16-year-old stabbed his father in the chest during an argument Wednesday night, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said.
The father signed a non-prosecution form and charges will not be pressed in the case, Maj. Tom Effler said.
"It didn't really puncture the chest," he said.
The incident took place at the family's home at 200 Moss Hill Drive.
The report said 16-year-old Jared Scott Stillings stabbed his father, 41-year-old Jeremiah Scott Stillings, in the chest after his father knocked headphones off his head.
According to the report, Jared was making loud noises and beating on a table in his room while playing video games.
When Jeremiah told his son to quit beating on the table, Jared "smart mouthed back to him," the report said, which is when Jeremiah reportedly knocked his headphones off.
Jared then hit his father in the face several times with his fists and stabbed his father in the chest.
The report said Jeremiah signed a refusal of treatment form. Effler confirmed that the father declined to be taken to the hospital.
