NCDOT: Hinnant Road will be closed Thursday for repairs from Hurricane Matthew

FREMONT -- Hinnant Road will be closed temporarily starting Thursday.
The N.C. Department of Transportation will close the road in order to make permanent repairs after damage from Hurricane Matthew. It will be closed at 1801 Hinnant Road for about two weeks to repair the pipe and road.
Crews made temporary repairs after the hurricane in order to reopen the road to traffic. A signed detour will route motorists around the closure using Nahunta Road and Ivey Lane.
Drivers are urged to use caution when in the area, and to watch for construction and detour signs. They should plan to need some extra time when traveling because of the detour.
