Authorities found marijuana on a man being taken to court from the Wayne County Detention Center Monday to face other marijuana-related charges, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.

Tomnis Yahyme Cox, 25, of 904 Devereaux St., is charged with felony possession of a controlled substance on prison/jail premises.

Maj. Tom Effler with the sheriff's office said officers were preparing to take Cox to court to face charges of driving while license revoked and possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana when they noticed the smell of marijuana coming from his person.

They searched him and found the drug on his person, according to a press release.

Effler said he did not know exactly how much marijuana was found on Cox.

He was given a $25,000 secured bond and remained in the detention center.
