The latest forecast from the National Weather Service in Raleigh for the area surrounding Seymour Johnson Air Force Base calls for light rain beginning today at about 1 p.m.

Conditions will deteriorate from there as rain turns to sleet later in the evening and overnight, giving way to snowfall in the early morning hours Saturday. A winter weather advisory remains in effect from 7 p.m. Friday until 7 p.m. Saturday.

Accumulation volumes is speculative, with anywhere from 1 to 3 inches of a mix of sleet and snow to fall between Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Lows Saturday night will hover around 14 degrees before climbing back up to 32 degrees on Sunday.
