Man shot in Dudley Friday, police searching for suspect

DUDLEY -- Deputies are searching for a suspect in connection with a Friday morning shooting that left one man injured.

Det. Sgt. Jonathan Griffin with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said 32-year-old Omar Vann was shot in the shoulder around 10:30 a.m. while looking at buying a truck from someone on Hack Drive.

The name of the person authorities are searching for has not yet been released.

Griffin said Vann and 27-year-old Kenneth Russell, both of whom have Raleigh addresses, were going to a residence on Hack Drive to see someone about purchasing a truck.

Griffin added investigators believe the shooting could be the result of a robbery.
