Snow to hold off until morning

The latest forecast from the National Weather Service in Raleigh for the area surrounding Seymour Johnson Air Force Base calls for light rain beginning today at about 1 p.m.
Conditions will deteriorate from there as rain turns to sleet later in the evening and overnight, giving way to snowfall in the early morning hours Saturday. A winter weather advisory remains in effect from 7 p.m. Friday until 7 p.m. Saturday.

Accumulation volumes is speculative, with anywhere from 1 to 3 inches of a mix of sleet and snow to fall between Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Lows Saturday night will hover around 14 degrees before climbing back up to 32 degrees on Sunday.
