A mural at the Wayne County Republican Party headquarters on Center Street has been vandalized.
GOP officials said it appeared someone came up the outside stairs at the back of the building sometime after Monday and gained entry by kicking in a door. Party officials said they discovered the damage today.
The officials said nothing appeared to be missing and that all of the damage was to the mural that included defacing a painting of Ronald Reagan and the scrawling of profanity on the art.
Brent Heath, Wayne County Republican Party chairman, said a report had been filed with Goldsboro police.
