The Wayne County Sheriff's Office arrested two people Friday and Saturday for drug possession, according to a press release.
Joshua Jermaine Cox, 23, of 149 Vanderbilt Circle, is charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver heroin and resist, delay or obstruct after being arrested Christmas Eve.
Maj. Tom Effler with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said though Cox resisted arrest, nobody was injured during the struggle.
An investigation led deputies into the Royall Avenue area, where they made contact with Cox near Royall Avenue and Evans Street. He was allegedly found to have heroin in his possession.
Effler said deputies making contact with Cox means they were investigating suspicious activity before arresting him.
According to the incident report, Cox was armed with a green pocket knife when he was arrested.
Cox was put in the Wayne County Jail.
Carl Windell McQuillar, 60, of 105 Daisy St., is charged with possession of cocaine after being arrested Friday.
McQuillar was pulled over for a stop sign violation while driving near 1035 N. William St. and officers reportedly found the drugs in the car.
He was given a $1,000 unsecured bond on the charge.
